Candidates in the Leadership Development Program are expected to develop and maintain a portfolio. The portfolio is intended to be a collection of documentation related to candidate's professional growth. The portfolio will help demonstrate the linkage between the candidate's professional goals and experiences with school administration. The process should promote self growth and reflective practice. This leadership portfolio will be very useful in assisting the Selection Committee of the Board prior to interviews for placement in the Vice Principal/principal placements.
The portfolio will include:
- Updated Resume
- Professional Growth Plan
- A Personal Reflection on "Leadership", this may be a revised version of the one used in applying to the program
- A reading list complete with reflective notes
- Mentorship documentation
- Copy of candidate's current teacher Appraisal(s).
- Other documents demonstrating leadership such as participation on Board/School committees such as: Occupational Health and Safety Committee, School Growth and Development Team, Safe and Caring School Committee, Professional Development, etc.
